IOTExplorer respects your privacy. This application does not collect, store, or share any personal data.
IOTExplorer does not collect personal information, location data, analytics, or user identifiers. The app operates entirely on your local network and only communicates with IoT devices discovered via UDP broadcast on that network.
All communication is used solely to discover, monitor, and manage IoT devices on your local network. Device information (such as IP addresses, MAC addresses, firmware versions, and device types) is processed locally on your Mac and is never transmitted to external servers or third-party services.
IOTExplorer requires local network access to perform device discovery via UDP broadcast, as well as network diagnostic tools such as ping, traceroute, and port checks. All network activity is limited to your local network unless you explicitly initiate an outbound action (e.g., opening a device's web interface).
IOTExplorer does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services. No data is sent to third parties.
App preferences (such as discovery settings, theme, and view mode) are stored locally on your Mac using standard macOS application storage. Exported device data (CSV or JSON) is saved only to locations you explicitly choose.
Communication between IOTExplorer and discovered devices occurs over your local network. SSH connections to supported devices use standard encrypted protocols. IOTExplorer does not store passwords or credentials beyond the current session.
