Privacy Policy – IRIS Display

IRIS Display respects your privacy. This policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices when you use IRIS Display and its optional Microsoft Teams integration.

Information We Collect

Device Communication (Required)

When you connect to an IRIS display device via Bluetooth, the app exchanges device identifiers and display settings with your IRIS hardware. This data remains between your app and the device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you use the Teams integration.

Microsoft Teams Integration (Optional)

If you choose to link your IRIS device to your Microsoft Teams account, the following information is collected and processed:

• Email address – From your Microsoft account, used to identify you and link your device.
• Name – Your display name from Microsoft, used to show which account is linked.
• Microsoft account identifier – Used to fetch your Teams presence status.
• Teams presence status – Availability (e.g., Available, In a meeting, Out of office) retrieved from Microsoft Graph API and displayed on your IRIS device.
• Device ID – Your IRIS device’s unique identifier, used to associate the device with your account.

This data is transmitted to our backend servers and stored to provide the Teams presence feature. OAuth tokens (used to refresh your presence) are stored securely on our servers and are not shared with third parties other than Microsoft (as required for the service to function).

How We Use Your Data

Data collected through the app is used solely to:

• Connect and control your IRIS display devices.
• Link your IRIS device to your Microsoft Teams account when you choose to do so.
• Fetch and display your Teams presence status on your IRIS device.
• Maintain your account and device link for as long as you use the feature.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising or analytics, and we do not share it with third parties except as necessary to provide the services (e.g., Microsoft for authentication and presence).

Third-Party Services

IRIS Display uses the following third-party services:

• Microsoft – For optional Microsoft Teams sign-in and presence. When you link Teams, you authenticate with Microsoft and we receive your email, name, and presence data via Microsoft Graph API. Microsoft’s privacy policy applies to your use of their services: Microsoft Privacy.
• IO-TEQ backend services – To store your Teams link and tokens, and to relay presence data to your device.

IRIS Display does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking services.

Your Choices

You control your data:

• Unlink device only – Removes your device from your Teams account but keeps your session. You can re-link without signing in again.
• Sign out completely – Removes your device and clears your stored tokens. You will need to sign in again to link.
• Delete your data – To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us at support@io-teq.com.

Data Retention

We retain your Teams-linked account data (email, name, device links, tokens) for as long as you use the Teams integration. When you sign out completely or request deletion, we remove your tokens and, upon request, your account record.

Security

Communication between the app and IRIS devices uses Bluetooth. Communication between the app, your device, and our backend uses HTTPS. OAuth tokens are stored securely on our servers and are used only to fetch your Teams presence.
